The answer to that is simple. We offer a plethora of opportunities to network and expand your knowledge of our industry and we provide access to a full array of resources to meet all of your HR needs.

For nearly 60 years, Wichita SHRM has provided a local forum to address the many issues HR professionals tackle daily. As an affiliate chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), we are the largest SHRM-affiliated chapter in Kansas with approximately 400 members. Our Chapter was one of the first to charter, and we’ve been proudly serving the area since 1960!

Our mission is straight-forward: To serve the needs of the HR professional, to advance the HR profession, and to enhance the effectiveness of our members as business partners. We exist to ensure our members have the tools and resources to be valued, contributing leaders in their employment. We do this by emphasizing our Chapter goals and objectives.

• Partner with other area organizations to offer professional development opportunities.

• Chapter Growth & Development

• Continually foster our volunteer program to include: maintaining an active volunteer roster, identifying all types of volunteer activities, requesting that all members volunteer for a minimum of one activity, and promoting volunteer opportunities at monthly meetings and orientations.
• Further develop and enhance the Chapter web site.
• Continue to identify opportunities for non-dues revenue and continue to provide programs and services to our members at a reasonable cost.
• Provide continual focus on retention of Chapter members.
• Identify and develop future chapter leaders.

How do I get more involved with Wichita SHRM?

We love this question! We have an amazing board of volunteers who lead the various dynamic areas of our organization – but they can’t do it alone. Without the help of additional volunteers we would likely fall flat.
