Employers want training to be relevant to their employees. Well-defined company orientations as well as job-specific courses add value to the employee’s ability to produce for the company–regardless of their position. Simultaneously, employees want to own their positions and have an established training roadmap. Learning plans provide the option that satisfies both requirements. By reviewing job descriptions as well as the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary for an employee to be successful in their role, managers are able to identify the training that is most beneficial. In this session, Kyelene Flaming, PHR, will address how to tie training and development to corporate objectives to realize growth based upon Delta Dental’s use of the Balanced Scorecard.
