Businesses are in a constant state of flux. Change is the name of the game. In order to stay competitive, to grow and develop, and to meet the challenges of a constantly changing world, companies must be able to recognize, address and seek on-going change. Fundamental to any business producing successful change management is the company’s Human Resources department. HR generalists and specialists must not only be able to adapt to change themselves, they are key players in a company’s change management strategy. Effective change management must provide effective communication while maintaining productivity; however, the most critical factor is dealing with the natural resistance that accompanies change. This presentation focuses on the key elements of dealing with resistance to change from an HR perspective addressing such issues as reasons for resistance, communicating effectively with those who are resisting change, moving through the natural process of resistance to acceptance, and minimizing the negative effects of resistance. This program is sponsored by Lifeline Stop Smoking Clinic and has been approved for 1 credit hour of recertification credit through HRCI. |
