I remember my first experience as a trainee long, long ago. I was given a binder full of papers and for the next three hours, my supervisor read as I followed along. Not only was it a horribly, dreadful experience, I don’t remember much of what was said that day (and I am pretty sure I napped a few times during). Thankfully over the years, there have been a handful of really good trainings that I have attended, as well as some effective instructors and mentors, that have taught me what effective training is: when trainees leave a training and make a change in their behavior that impacts the business in a positive way.
The objective of this session is to develop and deliver meaningful and value added instructor led training sessions that improve employee performance
Questions that will be answered in this session are (including, but not limited to):
- Can anyone be an effective trainer? What are the traits and skills of an effective trainer?
- Pre – assessments - do they really matter?
- Designing the curriculum: what should be included and what should be saved for a later time?
- Do they really need to practice the skills in the training room?
- Post assessments – do they really matter?
- What are the basic DOs and DONTs of effective training?
Participants will also get the opportunity to practice the skills and lessons discussed in the session!
