Objectives: To provide an understanding of diversity and diversity management principles
This two-hour customized, facilitated session is designed to introduce leaders to a strategic approach to diversity management and provide tools that will allow participants to adequately manage and leverage diversity within the organizations.
This session will also allow participants to experience the realization that people interpret things differently from one another in profound ways particularly differing cultures. At the conclusion of this session participants will have practical skills to:
- Facilate discussions of diverse viewpoints
- Lead discussions that help organizations learn through simulations
- Create an inclusive, safe, and welcoming learning environment
- Recognize the benefits of diversity as gains versus losses
- Share diversity related information in an interesting manner designed to introduce leaders to:
- A strategic approach to diversity management
- Tools for effective managerial decision-making
- Methods to access different perspectives and ideas that support collective business objectives
About the presenters:
Joseph attended Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria, northern Nigeria, earned a degree in Humanities from Tabor College and Wichita State University for graduate studies in Creative Writing. Joseph is currently an advisor to the Good Neighbor Fund, an employee giving program, and the coordinator of volunteer programs at Spirit AeroSystems.
Donna received her BA and MBA after relocating to Wichita 39 years ago. She has worked for The Boeing Company for 27 years where she is presently a Cultural Diversity Manager supporting the Central Region and a former Adjunct Professor at Newman University.
This program has been approved for strategic credit by HRCI.
