About the Speakers:
Trinidad Galdean, JD, PHR primarily represents businesses and employers. He is Board Certified in Labor and Employment Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and is also certified as a Professional in Human Resources by the Human Resource Certification Institute. He is licensed to practice law in Kansas, Texas, and Oklahoma.
Mr. Galdean's employment law practice involves advising employers and human resources managers on workplace issues, as well as employment law compliance matters. In working with employers and human resources manager, Mr. Galdean received special recognition in 2008 throughout the state of Kansas as the "Human Resources Professional of the Year" by the Kansas State Council of the Society for Human Resources Management. He was also recognized as the "Professional of the Year" in Wichita, Kansas by the area Society for Human Resources Management.
Mr. Galdean works with employers to develop in-house compliance training, as well as drafting employment agreements, non-competition covenants, severance agreements and employee handbooks which comply with federal and state statutes. He represents employers before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), State Human Rights Commission, the Department of Labor (DOL) and State Workforce Commissions. Mr. Galdean's employment litigation practice entails defending employers in matters involving discrimination claims, wage and hour claims, workplace privacy issues, employment confidentiality disputes, non-compete covenants and alternative dispute resolution.
Phillip M. Hayes, SPHR provides human resource consulting services and designs and facilitates management and compliance training. With a broad spectrum of experiences in human resources, strategic planning, operations management, and process redesign, Phil brings to clients a unique combination of business insight and extensive knowledge of recruiting, organizational effectiveness and performance management. Phil earned a Human Resource Management degree from Bellevue University and holds a Masters of Management Information Systems from Friends University. Phil currently serves on the board of directors for the Wichita Chapter of the Society of Human Resource Management as Technology Director 2009, Vice President of Communcations 2007 & 2008, Chapter President 2006, and served as the Legislative Director for the Kansas Society for Human Resource Management from 2003 through 2005. Phil was recognized by the Wichita Business Journal by being selected to the 2006 class of the “40 Under 40” for making significant contributions to the area’s economy as well as his involvement in the community.
