Through discussion of real “EEOC” cases and practical application of employer liability issues, participants will receive valuable tips for conducting effective EEO investigations. Sharron Blalock, former EEOC District Training Manager and current owner of EEO Prevention or Penalty, LLC will provide participants with “insider” advice from EEOC’s viewpoint. This training will focus on the following strategic issues of this “hot button” topic for employers today:
- Deciding if the duty to investigate has been triggered
- Knowing if you should conduct an investigation Preparing for the investigation
- Choosing your investigator wisely Conducting the investigation
- Interviewing witnesses/Obtaining facts/Taking action Reaching a conclusion

- Deciding what to include in final report Taking prompt and appropriate action

This is an interactive program that centers on “people” interaction. Through discussion of real life “case studies”, participants are actively involved in the learning process.
Sharron E. Blalock is the current President/Owner of EEO Prevention or Penalty, LLC, a consulting firm whose goal is to empower employers with the skills needed to proactively address EEO issues. During her career with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Sharron acquired extensive experience in all EEO areas and brings a wealth of experience to any employment discrimination situation.
