With immigration being a hot topic on employers’ minds for the past few years, employers must now have a command of the law and required immigration compliance. Additionally, the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Agency has investigators trained and ready to prosecute employers that employ foreign nationals illegally. Thus, simply making an effort to comply with the rules is no longer enough. The session will address how to prepare for the immigration and enforcement actions and avoid federal government sanctions. The presentation will include:
Homeland Security enforcement practices
Regulations on immigration compliance
I9 compliance
Managing Social Security Administration no match letters
Conducting Private I9 audits
ICE at HR’s Door
Recent state and federal immigration reforms
