In this session, you will learn the aspects of working in a negative work environment, how to create a work environment that encourages positive vs. negative thinking, how to turn negative energy into positive results and how to be successful in spite of a negativity. Participants will also learn how to work with negative people, including supervisors, by identifying sources of negative attitudes. Additionally, you will learn how to work with and manage negative thinkers. Finally, Dorothy will address how to rediscover the positive by exploring your own negativity, practicing positive thinking and reaping the benefits, and seeing your cup as "half full" instead of "half empty."
Dorothy Harpool is the Director of Graduate Studies in Business and a Lecturer at Wichita State University’s Barton School of Business. She received her Bachelor of Business Administration from Mt. Mercy College and her Master of Business Administration from Wichita State University. She has taught undergraduate courses in the areas of Marketing Principles, Consumer Behavior, Entrepreneurship, and Promotion Management. Ms. Harpool is a two-time winner of the Barton School of Business Teaching Award and a two time recipient of the Wichita State University Board of Regents Excellence in Teaching Award. In addition to her teaching and administrative roles at Wichita State, Dotty is also a management development trainer and marketing research consultant, assisting businesses in their development of marketing and human resource programs.
