What does management want from their HR partner? And, why is everyone so concerned about HR professionals and their competency levels? This workshop will provide an overview of the reasons management is so interested in Human Resources and what they want from their HR partner. More importantly, the workshop will look at the most recent research on competencies necessary for HR professionals to be successful. Participants will learn:
• The two most important goals management has for HR
• The two types of competency models used by HR professionals
• The most important competencies for HR professionals
• The one competency that distinguishes outstanding HR professionals from others
• A competency model that can be used to develop any HR professional
Kim Scanlan is an accomplished Human Resources professional with proven leadership capabilities in a variety of Human Resources and Corporate Services competencies for a multi-billion dollar corporation. Kim is currently working on her dissertation after working for 25 years for Boeing/Spirit in all areas of Human Resources. Kim received an undergraduate degree in Political Science from Iowa State University, an MBA from Wichita State University, her certification as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), and is currently working on a doctorate in business at Capella University. She is an adjunct professor for Webster University where she teaches graduate-level courses in Human Resources and Management and she facilitates the SHRM Learning System for Newman University.
