| Required Skills |
- One year of experience interacting with clients, customers, or the public in a social service or problem resolution setting. Twelve (12) credit hours of course work at the post secondary level in social services, human services or a related field may be substituted for the one year of experience
- Work well without direct supervision
- Are recognized for your ability to communicate with groups as well as individuals
- Possess exceptional customer service skills
- You must meet the minimum requirements and proficiency skills for the Workforce Services Specialist See "Program Specialist I" classification)

As a Workforce Services Specialist, you will:
- Provide core services to job candidates that may include group and individual career guidance and counseling workshops
- Provide career guidance assessments to help candidates identify alternative occupational choices
- Provide early intervention Reemployment services to claimants indentified by the Kansas Department of Labor (KDOL) Worker Profiling and Reemployment Services (WPRS) and schedule claimant for individual services at the Workforce Center
- Provide employer services by screening candidates against employer’s job requirements to make appropriate referrals and other activities
The Workforce Services Specialist position:
- Is based in Wichita, KS
- Is benefits eligible
- Is a Limited-Term position that is expected to end June 30, 2011
- This position is funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act
