Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Recruit, develop, train, and build teams that function effectively and cooperatively within the organization.Serve as a mentor, coach, director, teacher, trainer and leader to department personnel
- Adhere to and uphold and support the Company Code of Conduct.
- Manage the departmental budget in an efficient, resourceful, cost-effective manner
- Evaluate and modify HR-related operational policies and procedures
- Lead the HR duties of the company in a fully functional and productive manner
- Execute the timely and accurate fulfillment of all responsibilities per Company policy
- Meet project deadlines
- Maintain open/timely communication with other members of the management staff
- Develop and implement integrated project plans
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project documentation and reports
- Identify and account for issues related to human resources and organizational development
- Identify areas of issue and define and implement productive solutions
- Set up and maintain, in a confidential and timely manner, personnel files, medical records and other HR-related files
- nsure timely and accurate data management of employee information
- Ensure that all personnel information, whether written or verbal, remains confidential
- Responsible for ensuring that accurate records are kept of benefit eligibility, personal days, FMLA leave and other leaves, and for reminding managers of deadlines, performance review dates, and other time-sensitive information
- Develop, implement and oversee Company training and Organizational Development initiatives
- Responsible for working with management on the development, implementation, maintenance, and communication of personnel policies and procedures, government regulations, laws, benefit changes, and the Employee Information Handbook and personnel forms
- Responsible for recruitment, including internal and external job postings, letters, calls, testing, maintaining resume/applicant files, setting up interviews, checking references, and assisting the hiring manager in the interview process when necessary
- Responsible for ensuring that all paperwork for new and exiting employees is processed correctly
- Responsible for developing necessary tools, systems, and procedures to ensure full functionality of the HR department from a compliance, training and organizational development perspective
- Responsible for ensuring that governmental, legal, and fiduciary responsibilities (government reports, unemployment claims response, etc.) are executed in an accurate and timely manner per Company policy and legal requirements
- Responsible for maintaining current knowledge of Company policies, government regulations and legislation, and HR laws, trends and standards. Additionally, the individual is responsible for maintaining a current knowledge of best practices and trends associated with organizational development practices
- Responsible for serving as a member of the Company Safety Committee and ensuring OSHA and workers compensation compliance.
- Responsible for Company projects that will enhance the Company’s ability to attract, engage, develop, retain, and advance competent staff
- Responsible for the acceptance, execution and completion of all duties/tasks assigned by supervisory or management staff
- Enthusiastic attendance at all Company functions is expected and encouraged
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- HR Management degree, or degree in relevant field with practical and proven professional HR experience
- Five or more years’ proven experience gained through increasingly responsible positions within HR
- Professional Human Resources (PHR) or Senior Professional Human Resources (SPHR) certification, or willingness to obtain certification
- Training and experience in organizational development
- Strong oral and written communication skills to work productively with employees, customers, co-workers, management and vendors
- Ability to perform multiple tasks and solve problems
- Capable of making sound decisions and clearly expressing the basis for the decisions
- Strong computer skills, including working knowledge of time management and HR software, MS Word and MS Excel. Ability to create macros and a working knowledge of MS Access is desirable.
